Satellite Drag Neutral  Density Project

Accurate specification and prediction of the satellite drag environment is necessary to calculate satellite drag and orbital trajectories precisely.   The objective of this project is to better understand physical interactions between the thermosphere and ionosphere [1] [2].   We are analyzing COSMIC-2 satellite data and conducting Thermosphere Ionosphere Electrodynamics General Circulation Model (TIEGCM) modeling to assess magnetic disturbance effects.
